FULL BOAT CHAIR
DESIGNER: Nikita Bhate and Pascal Hien
MATERIAL: Teak wood and leather seat
STYLISTIC INFLUENCE: Contemporary

FEATURES: Reminiscent of the Planter’s Chair of the Colonial style in British India as well as the reclining easy chair or chaise longue, the Full Boat Chair combines traditional wood and lathe turning techniques and weaving. Simple in construction, it makes use of natural-finished teak wood and natural nubak leather that is sanded on the grain side to produce a slight sheen to the surface. The joinery detail is symptomatic of the Sankheda Chair of Gujarat. The long extendable arms have a small bracket detail for comfort, thus making the chair adaptable for the human body.
