Launched in 2014, SeeThru ST7 is a smart video door phone (VPD) that gives homeowners a greater sense of control while they are away. The technology moves beyond basic functions and takes into account the more subtle needs of consumers.

While conventional devices are only equipped to capture a photograph, this VPD can call the owner’s mobile phone, if a visitor visits when no one’s home. This is possible by simply linking the security system to a resident landline number. Furthermore, the screen can be accessed through a television, which means that one can answer the VPD without needing to walk to the door.

Once the device is activated it, it registers an image of every visitor on a removable SD card; and if the additional CCTVs are installed, they feature a motion detection system that records a brief clip of any movement in front of the camera.
