MAESTRALINO FAN
COMPANY: Ercole Marelli
YEAR: c. 1915

Ercole Marelli is an Italian firm and one of the largest fan manufacturers of its time, extensively exporting to the British colonies amongst other countries. At a time when other popular brands are producing bulkier models, Marelli has introduced lighter, elegant designs that run on alternating current (AC). AC depends on induction motors that improves efficiency, greatly reduce the size of wires, and thereby make fans more practical for homes.

Various versions of this model will remain in fashion for decades, making Maestralino the company’s bestselling ‘electrical air agitator’.
