DAMROO STOOL
DESIGNER: India Urban
MATERIAL: Wire frame, cane
DESIGNER: India Urban

The shape of this contemporary piece of furniture by India Urban is inspired by the traditional
damroo — the small, two-headed drum — as well as the mooda, a drum-shaped low stool.
While the body of the stool is handcrafted using mild steel, the seat itself is handwoven in jute,
cane, or plastic. It proves to be a nifty form of furniture when constrained for space, and
encourages a way of living that carries on a strong connection with the outdoors.
