The Sarkanda craft, intrinsic to Haryana, is common to web moodas. In this process, the thicker
parts of the dried up sarkanda plant found abundantly across Haryana are used. This low,
circular stool is made by aligning the sarkanda in a criss-cross pattern that is tied along the
spine. At times, the moodas also have a backrest attached to the circular seat. The method of
traditionally manufacturing the mooda in Assam's Silchar region and has an intricate structure
made of thin splits, tied together with cane bindings in order to form a warped surface that is
load bearing. The seat uses the split cane weaving process.
