STRUCTURAL FEATURES: The legs of the chair resemble the curule style, a type of crossbar-like feature where the legs are in a bowed-up or in a ‘U’-shape, consisting of two curved pieces joined in the middle. The firmly woven rattan seat joins with the elongated arms and a curved, reclining back meant to lend comfort to the user. This type of chair gains popularity in homes during the British Raj.
STYLISTIC FEATURES: The edges of the wooden frame of the seat comprise a slightly curved scroll-like pattern, seen at the ends of the arms as well. The back of the reclining chair has a somewhat wing-like design that protrudes outwards.
