Lake Palace was intended to be a winter palace for Maharana Jagat Singh II. Set against the Aravalli Hills and surrounded by Lake Pichola, the structure invites nature in. In keeping with the poetic appeal of the place, the palace’s marble walls were kept free of heavy elements, while perforated features such as jharokhas and jalis furthered its graceful elegance.
