In the Santhal village of Jadugoda (Jharkhand), men erect the basic structure of the mud homes after which women take over to plaster and paint the walls. The colours used are obtained from beautiful oxides unique to this region. The façade is decorated with bright colours that are sometimes contrasted with motifs inspired by flora, fauna and folklore.
