The Lallgarh Palace was designed by British architect Sir Swinton Jacob, as a residential complex for Maharaja Ganga Singh. The building is a fine example of the Indo-Sarcenic style that drew elements from Rajput, Islamic and European architecture.
The inner courtyard makes for an exuberant display of fine jali work. The screen-patterns are derived by interspersing overlapping hexagons with pointed flowers. Intricately carved jharokhas and relief panels frame these traceries, making for an exquisite front facade.
